Prevention is always better than cure
The accumulation of plaque on your teeth can result in the development of tartar, which has the potential to harm your gums. Gum disease is one of the most common causes of adult tooth loss.
Also known as periodontal disease, gum disease can be painful, cause infections, and even lead to bone erosion.
Healthy gums are required to support the bone around the teeth. It is essential to care for our gums just as much as we care for our teeth. If you notice red, swollen gums that bleed when brushing, it could be a sign of gum disease, also known as gingivitis.
If gingivitis is not addressed, it may progress into periodontitis, an infection that impacts the entire tooth area. This could ultimately lead to tooth loss, which should be avoided if at all possible.
For optimal oral health, we suggest you attend regular hygiene appointments and dental exams. These routine check-ups are a cost-effective method of prevention.
